We both served our missions in Brazil (not at the same time, of course) and there I encountered a form of pizza I'll never forget. It had the usual: tomato sauce and cheese on top and they even threw on a little pinneapple, which isn't too unusual. However, they then seemed to lose all etiquette when it came to the fruits. It had figs, peaches and even green olives thrown in for good measure. They then proceeded to call it a Californian Pizza...why would they call it that?
And, no, I didn't like the flavor it produced at all...

CA grows the most produce of any state, and olives, figs and peaches are large crops there, that is probably why they call it the CA pizza. CA IS the land of fruits and nuts, and by that I mean the people. Hahaha. I am from CA so I can say that right? Lol.
Please do more cartoons about genealogy!!!
Utah style. That's great. Where's the jello on the side?
Haha, I served in Germany and they had an "American" style pizza with corn on it. Weird... really just plain weird...
In England in addition to corn, I saw boiled eggs offered as toppings.
Also having served in Brasil - Tuna fish and peas; Linguica and peaches; Hearts of palm and salt cod; all kinds of fun stuff. Thanks the for laugh and the reminder.
mmmm I loved the California.... Although we had a missionary ask why they called it the california him being from california informed him that he was from california and that they never ate pizza like that. The waiter was then seen later circulating the same pizza and calling it the Texas
Dear Goldsburys, I just found your blog, and am so excited! Thanks for reminding us humor can be funny AND clean. What I miss most about Brazilian pizzas is the dessert pizza. The pizza rodizios were a very smart idea, with roving pizza guys serving all kinds of pizzas for a flat rate. --Mindy
I LOVE Brasilian pizza! Most of my family lives there and when we were in Bombhinas (Santa Catarina) visiting a few years ago I got to have Brasilian pizza for the first time. Tuna fish and shrimp I could forget about, but most of it I loved :-) Where did you serve?
